Briefly about me

I am Chris Buerckner, a Generalist Designer with a background in Industrial Design. I have over 14 years of experience working in leading Australian Retail Display & Merchandising companies and as an in-house designer responsible for developing world-class products for the payments industry. My expertise lies in my ability to take an idea and make it become reality. I achieve this through specialised design software, detailed manufacturing knowledge, and strong relationships with suppliers.

All CAD is done in SolidWorks (I am a certified SolidWorks expert) and delivered in either native SolidWorks format or STEP files. Product visualisation stills and animations are done in KeyShot. All other visual design work is done in Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.

I do not do any deep engineering work, but I have worked on many products in collaboration with engineers and designed them with a very engineering-friendly approach. I am very comfortable working with engineers and collaborating successfully with in-house engineering teams and consultants.

I am passionate about helping people and businesses find solutions to make their lives and businesses more sustainable. We all are responsible for protecting our planet, and I am committed to using my skills and knowledge to make a difference.

I am a generalist in life as much as I am in my profession. I have played team sports and video games for 20 years. I am raising a young family and love time to think, read, learn and relax. I have coached football to young adults and taught fresh uni students how to design in 3 dimensions for ten years. I love a bit of everything that life has to offer.
