The QT850 Smart Payment Terminal is a sleek and modern device that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The terminal's design was inspired by the Quest Payment System’s brand, which is known for its clean, minimalist aesthetic and characterised by its use of simple lines and shapes. The large, 3.5inch display allows customers to easily see their transaction information. The large, easy-to-press buttons make the terminal simple to use for both customers and merchants.

The terminal has been designed to be user-friendly, with a simple and intuitive interface.  The terminal has been built from the ground up with modularity and can switch between Standalone and Integrated modes with various accessories and cabling options.

The QT850 payment terminal provided an incredible challenge to design and develop. Working on this product has provided me with invaluable experience over the five year development to production period. In 2023 the product has entered mass production, having scaled to a volume of 20K units produced per month.

• Concept development via early CAD models and block models

• 3D CAD detailing (Solidworks) and visualisation (Keyshot)

• Prototype models (3D Print, SLA, CNC) for form and function assessment

• Supplier sourcing, negotiation and BOM management

• Product DFM, 2D documentation, Tooling design reviews, OTS reviews

• Assembly sequencing and time studies, QC documentation and assessments, improvement reports

• Packaging design
